Washington Christian Universities & Bible Colleges

For those who miss seeing green during the winter, Washington may be the place for you. The abundance of evergreen trees is not only the source of the state nickname "The Evergreen State," but also for one of the most important industries in the state. Washington is the leading producer of lumber in the country, but the people in the state also realize the importance the trees play in the environment, and attempt to find a balance between industry and ecology. Beyond the trees, Washington also enjoys the natural beauty of mountains, their famous apple orchards, and the popular wines that come from the fertile Columbia Valley.

Beyond timber, Washington’s economy is also supported by manufacturing, agriculture, and fishing–particularly salmon and halibut. According to Washington State Employment Security Department, some of the jobs currently in demand statewide include accountants, architects, chief executives, engineers, several positions in the computer industry, many education and health care positions, and veterinarians. As most of these jobs require education beyond high school and many require a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, getting a solid education is a smart move when considering the job prospects in Washington.

One way to obtain this education is by attending a Christian university or Bible college in Washington. The schools available for Christian education offer a variety of options and opportunities for students. Larger schools, like Seattle Pacific University, provide a solid education with both traditional as well as religious courses of study. These schools usually offer plenty of extracurricular activities such as athletics and fellowship–all based in the Christian faith. These schools also usually offer both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Smaller schools, like Puget Sound Christian College, offers a smaller campus environment, which provides more one-on-one time with instructors, and the courses of study typically focus more on religious classes. Degrees available at these types of schools are generally undergraduate only.
