Known as a state representing many things larger than life, Texas really does live up to its reputation. As the second largest in land mass, the natural beauty of the state ranges from piney forests in the east to mountains and desert in the west to plains in the north to rolling hills in central Texas, and finally, beach along the south part of the state where it meets the Gulf of Mexico. Texas’ state motto, "friendship," speaks for the kindness famous among the residents of the state.

All that’s big in Texas extends to its economy as well. Texas is the leader in oil, cattle, sheep, and cotton. High tech and space industries are also important elements in the economy of the state. According to the Texas Labor Market Information, the state not only enjoys an unemployment rate below the national rate, it continues to see job growth in many industries, including retail, professional and business services, education and health services, and government. The trend seems to indicate that many of the jobs that staying demand include positions that require education beyond high school, with many of these jobs requiring a Bachelor’s degree.

One way to ensure you get a good education to be competitive in the Texas job market is by attending one of the many Christian universities or Bible colleges found in the state. With so many schools offering such a wide variety of options, students who seek a Christian education in Texas will not have a problem getting the education they desire. Some of the larger schools, such as Abilene Christian University or Hardin-Simmons University, offer top-rate education with plenty of degree options, including traditional courses of study as well as religious classes. Smaller schools may provide a more intimate setting with fewer degree options, but a tighter focus on religious education. Both of these types of schools offer Bachelor’s degrees and may also offer graduate degrees as well. Still other schools, such as Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, focus only on graduate-level degrees in religion.
