Rhode Island Christian Universities & Bible Colleges

While the smallest state in the country, Rhode Island enjoys a large history. The state was settled by a religious group seeking relief from persecution at the Massachusetts Bay Colony and continued to stand up for the beliefs of the people through many historic stands, including being one of the first colonies to announce its independence from British rule. Today, the people in Rhode Island can relax with less political upheaval and enjoy the amazing 400 miles of waterfront available in a state with a total of just over 1000 square miles of land. Rhode Island is also host to some of the most grand summer homes of the mid-19th century–many of which are open for public viewing.

Being located on so much water, it’s no surprise that one source of Rhode Island’s economy is a successful fishing industry, as well as tourism. Manufacturing and farming–particularly wine and turf grass–are also important sources of revenue for the economy. Rhode Island has put together a listing of "hot jobs" for the future of the state that are expected to grow at a faster rate and pay higher wages than average jobs in Rhode Island. At the top of this list, registered nurses, accountants and auditors, teachers, computer system analysts, and management analysts figure highly. All of these jobs will require education beyond high school, and most will require a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.

Attending a Christian university or Bible college in Rhode Island is an excellent way to obtain that degree that can give you the edge when breaking into the job market. The Christian schools in the state offer many options for students, including selecting between traditional courses of study or focusing more tightly on religious studies. Larger schools, like Providence College, will typically offer more selection when it comes to degree programs and the opportunity to earn graduate degrees as well, but smaller schools like Zion Bible Institute offer smaller classes in a slower-paced city. Both options will most surely provide the education you seek in a Christ-centered environment.
