The stunning beauty of the New Mexico landscape has inspired many, as can be seen by the number of artists and artist communities that are located throughout the state. The economy in New Mexico is also driven by a diverse set of factors. Agriculture, particularly livestock, plays an important role, as does mining of potassium, uranium, copper, gold, silver, zinc, natural gas, and petroleum. Another important element of the economic picture is the large amount of scientific research and development for nuclear, solar, and geothermal energy. According to New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions, some of the fastest growing jobs in the future economy of New Mexico will require at least a Bachelor’s degree. These jobs include computer software engineers, industrial engineers, social workers, teachers, pharmacists, and registered nurses.
Getting a degree to ensure a successful career in New Mexico can be done through the Christian universities and Bible colleges in the state. These schools offer a variety of options for students. Some schools, such as The University of New Mexico, offer the benefits of a larger university along with the specialized focus of a Christian curriculum available through their Religious Studies Program. The Albuquerque campus of Wayland Baptist University is another school that offers traditional degrees alongside religious studies. Other schools offer less traditional options when it comes to general studies, but provide a very focused examination of theology. Nazarene Bible College is a good examples of these types of schools.
