From its beginnings as a refuge for the homeless and poor in London to its current state of a leader in commerce and transportation, Georgia has come a long way in its history. With historical sites of famous civil war battles to coastline along the Gulf of Mexico to the renowned beauty of Savannah, Georgia has plenty to see and do. The largest state in the southwest, Georgia is an important player in agriculture–especially peanuts, manufacturing, and natural resources.
Working in Georgia shows promise for those in industries such as education, the scientific and technical industries, healthcare, and religious and grantmaking fields. While unemployment rates in Georgia are about the same as the federal unemployment rates, many specific areas within Georgia continue to see lower rates than that of the federal standards as transportation, commerce, and agriculture continue to do well in Georgia. Students can opt for a university setting such as at Covenant College or Georgia Christian University, where students can enroll in traditional fields of study such as business management to theologically-based fields such as Christian education. Other options for Christian education in Georgia include smaller colleges such as Beulah Heights Baptist College. Students at these schools can earn Bachelor’s degrees or graduate degrees as well as participate in Christ-based fellowship and extracurricular activities.
